Collection: In The Blues

A collection of vintage jewellery from one family’s heirloom to yours, with a ceramic, pearl and turquoise collection inspired by it.

Like rocks, driftwood and coral that appear at low tide before becoming hidden and reshaped by high tide, this collection speaks to what is revealed, what remains, and what vanishes.

With heartfelt thanks to Jessie Culbert Boucher who generously donated these pieces from her grandmother’s collection to be a part of “In the Blues”. Her grandmother, Betty Culbert, lived a life of faith, service, travel and art. A sculptor herself, working with driftwood as her medium, she exhibited in juried shows over the years.

In Jessie’s words:

“I’ve been thinking about what to write about her and nothing has come super easily. All I have thought of is ‘In the Blues,’ because blue was her favourite color and her eyes were this ice blue color. I’ve been thinking about how we collect things and that someday someone will go through each of our things and wonder why did she love this or where did she get this? In sharing these pieces with you, I love the idea that someone new is going to choose them and bring ‘the blues’ into the light of day!”
